We will be back. Soon.
Today the sun is out. The sky is blue. The seas are blue. The hills are green. The town pastel. Though I look forward to seeing Santa Margherita again, we could spend another day or two here. This is my kind of resort town. Old school Italian charm with just a touch of tourist stuff.
What did we like/dislike about the town?
Food. Go to: Calanca Restaurant (in old town) and Olimpo (in Vis a Vis Hotel - but $$$). Avoid: Bistro (in old town - tired and not fresh). Don’t go to places that have 5 Euro drinks (they’re not worth it).
Do. Walk the “boardwalk” along the water. Ride bikes (rent or most hotel’s loan them) on the new bike path up to the next town. Enjoy the beach or pool. Tour the churches if you’re into that. Visit the old town and shop.
Hotel: Vis a Vis. Amazing views. Friendly and convenient to the train station. Only complaint is the hair dryer in the room is attached to the wall. There are several other 4 star hotels in town that I’m sure match the service but the view is hard to beat.
Random Pictures from our walks yesterday.
