So we ate regional Austrian food last night and while it was great I'd spotted a little italian place on the way into the city core yesterday (funny how even when I'm exhausted I notice Italian restaurants). You didn't think it would take us too long to find Italian did you? The place was called Trattoria Campainga di Enzo.
It was pretty cool cause they spoke German, Italian, and English and I got to demonstrate how badly I can butcher any language.
Del Vino Rosso - Due Bickere
Despite How I look I'm not angry - just wet (it's raining here in Salzburg). That's our waitress over my shoulder. She kept telling us the "red" water was better than the clear. She was actually kind of an Austrian Henny Youngman with multiple one liners in three languages.
Appetizer of carpaccio with parma and arugula.
Carolyn's Pasta Bolognese.
Not a great pic but this is my artichoke and ricotta pasta - really great and the pasta is all al dente. Both pasta dishes were excellent. We did the traditional Italian thing and ended the meal with salads.
We were going to walk and find an eis (ice cream) or a pastry but it was pouring so we went back to the hotel so I could write this blog (we were pretty soaked when we made it the half mile back from the restaurant).
