A hike in the hills of Keswick
We took a hike through the hills above Keswick - the specific hike is here and below are some of our photos with commentary.
The hike starts about half a mile from town in a small wood.
And quickly rises up above Keswick and Derwentwater (the lake)
The trail gets a bit more rugged but nothing too bad
You pass through a bunch of "kissing" gates and fields actively being used for grazing.
It crosses a number of "becks" (small streams)
And goes through a bunch of pastures.
Sometimes there are no gates and they build steps into the walls.
Coolest part is at about the 2/3 mark is Castelrigg stone circle (think a small stonehenge).
Through a few more fields and
You end up back in Keswick and start walking along an old disused railroad track.
All the way back into town.
