“ In Bologna, a demonstration organized by the CGIL, Cisl and Uil to protest against the government's measures on work. The procession to Piazza Maggiore started at 9:30 a.m. from Piazza XX Settembre with the secretary general of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini, at the head. On the banner placed in front of the procession was written the phrase "For a new season of work and rights", the title of the mobilization. Also present in Piazza Maggiore was the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, who was welcomed, among others, by the mayor Matteo Lepore, with a hug.”

Protest is about usual stuff, primarily wages with working conditions thrown in.  Suspect a strike in June. Further protests are planned in Milan on the 13th and Naples on the 20th.

Interesting to watch but as an uninformed retired tourist I feel a bit removed from the whole thing.
