A hike in the hills of Keswick

We took a hike through the hills above Keswick - the specific hike is here and below are some of our photos with commentary. IMG 2803 The hike starts about half a mile from town in a small wood. IMG 2810 And quickly rises up above Keswick and Derwentwater (the lake) IMG 2812 The trail gets a bit more rugged but nothing too bad IMG 2835 You pass through a bunch of "kissing" gates and fields actively being used for grazing. IMG 2844 It crosses a number of "becks" (small streams) IMG 2855 And goes through a bunch of pastures. IMG 2887 Sometimes there are no gates and they build steps into the walls. IMG 2901 Coolest part is at about the 2/3 mark is Castelrigg stone circle (think a small stonehenge). IMG 2912 Through a few more fields and IMG 2922 You end up back in Keswick and start walking along an old disused railroad track. IMG 2944 All the way back into town.
