Last Dinner in Arles

We went for a glass of wine at the Bistro du Vin. It specializes in local organic (non chemically treated wine) and we were told (correctly) that the owner would help us learn about the Cotes du Rhone wines. The days it is open seems to vary with the mood of the owner (and it’s apparently not frequent) but if you are in Arles and are fortunate enough to be there when this is open I highly recommend it. It turns out the Bistro also had some good, simple, hearty Provincial foods. Here they are:

A plate of sliced meats

A beef stew with mashed potatoes

Local organic sausage with potatoes au gratin

A chocolate torte – took me a minute to get the camera out and Fran was already all over this.
